Mike Fasano Finally Endorses Amanda Murphy

Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano has finally come forward and officially put his support behind Democrat Amanda Murphy in the House District 36 race, even after he said he wasn't going to endorse any candidate.

While filming an edition of "Florida This Week" on WEDU, Fasano was asked if he was endorsing Murphy, and he said yes.

But despite what Fasano said in the past, the endorsement should hardly come as a surprise to those who have been following the special election in Pasco County closely. Fasano has been very vocal about his dislike for Republican Bill Gunter and even said he had voted for Murphy in the primary election. He also paid for thousands of automated phone calls telling voters to ignore campaign fliers sent on behalf of Gunter.

Fasano's official support may be the tipping point in what's predicted to be a close election. The election will take place next Tuesday.
