Mike Fasano Digs into Bill Gunter

Mike Fasano took aim at Bill Gunter on Sunday evening, taking to Twitter to bash the Republican candidate hoping to succeed him in the House District 36 race.

The tweet read:

"@ElectBillGunter can't run on his own merits. Instead attacks opponent using Tallahassee money. Be very careful GOP House Campaigns"

Fasano, who currently serves as tax collector of Pasco County, congratulated both Gunter and his Democratic opponent, Amanda Murphy, after their victories in the primary race earlier this month. Fasano also asked that neither candidate use his name in their mailers or advertisements.

Several high-profile Republicans have endorsed Gunter for the position, including House Speaker Will Weatherford and the next two designated speakers,Reps. Richard Corcoran, R-Trinity, andJose Oliva, R-Miami.

Gunter will face off against Murphy on Oct. 15.
