Michelle Rhee, Education Guru for Rick Scott, Will Describe Her Reform Ideas on Monday's 'Oprah'
Michelle Rhee, head of Gov.-elect Rick Scott's education transition team, went live with her new website at 10 a.m.
The former D.C. schools chancellor, whose service to Scott and to Florida is unpaid, will announce on a pre-taped "Oprah" segment Monday that she will take her "brassy education-reform ideas" national by starting an advocacy group. According to Politico, the group will draw on the natural grass-roots power of teachers, parents and pupils.
CNN reported early Monday that Rhee literally will be the day's "Oprah" show -- her segment will fill up the time slot.
Rhee has said she will meet with teachers, parents and students to get input. And she outlines her new plan on the cover of this week's Newsweek magazine. The magazine will hit the streets as soon as the "Oprah" show is over.
