Michele Bachmann: Florida 'Will be Decisive'
While she is no longer in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota offered her thoughts on the role of the Florida primary. In a taped segment for the OReilly Factor on Fox News that will air on Thursday night, Bachmann, who announced earlier in the week that she will run for another term in Congress, said the Florida primary on Tuesday will be crucial.
It will be decisive, Bachmann said. It will be decisive in that we could see a few candidates drop out and I think it could be a rallying point, because winner takes all. And even though we have a long way to go to get the requisite number of delegates, the fact on the ground is you have to have money to be able to keep the mother ship and thats the -- thats the determiner.
Bachmann also offered her takes on the polls and the fluid race.
They go from one candidate to another, and they completely go with one candidate, and then theyll hear some information and theyll move away, Bachmann said. And so people are looking for perfection. But at a certain point, theyll recognize we have to have a standard bearer. And I think Floridas result will be decisive. Whichever way it goes, I think it will be decisive.
Bachmann weighed in on her role in the rest of the election cycle.
For me, I intend to play a unifying role. I want this party to come together," Bachmann said. I want independents to be attracted to our candidate because I am committed to making sure that Barack Obama doesnt have a second term.
