Miami, FSU in Position to Pass Gators Next Weekend
The ever-entertaining FSU-Miami clash this coming Saturday could give either squad bragging rights as the best team in this football-lovin' state.
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. at SunLife (Dolphin) Stadium on ABC. Both teams are coming off solid victories. Each has just one loss. On the strength of their win at Clemson, the Canes vaulted to No. 13 in this week's AP poll, edging past the Florida Gators. The Seminoles returned to the Top 25 after thrashing Virginia, landing at No. 23.
Meantime, in Gainesville, 14th-ranked UF will try to get back on the winning track against LSU. It won't be an easy assignment. The Gators were throttled by No. 1 Alabama on Saturday, and the conventional wisdom in college football is to never bet against the Bayou Bengals at night.
Yeah, LSU got lucky against Tennessee, but Florida didn't even look like it was in the same league as Alabama. If the Gators don't find some semblance of offense, they're not going to find the end zone at Florida Field either.
