Mel Martinez Defends Mitt Romney from DNC Attacks

With the Democratic National Committee releasing a new ad against Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Monday, the Romney team responded by bringing out leaders from the states in which the ad is being aired to defend their candidate. In Florida, the Romney camp turned to former U.S. Sen. Mel Martinez who is serving as chairman for the campaigns National Advisory Council.

It is unsurprising that President Obama and the Democratic Party machine are relentlessly attacking Mitt Romney, Martinez said in a statement.Having failed to turn around the economy, they have no choice but to run a negative campaign against the presidential candidate best equipped to bring them to account for three years of economic mismanagement that has left millions of Americans without work.
