Megyn Kelly: 'If You Can't Get Past Me, How Are You Gonna Handle Vladimir Putin?'

For the first time Fox News’ Megyn Kelly talked publicly about the criticism she received over Thursday night's GOP presidential debate.

In an interview with "MediaBuzz" host Howard Kurtz this morning, the Fox News host of "The Kelly Files" stayed on the high road. She denied she was singling out Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump. “If you can’t get past me, how are you gonna handle Vladimir Putin?” she asked.

She explained that the goal was, for every candidate, to “drill down to their most vulnerable areas and then give them a chance to explain them” -- the idea being, these same things will definitely resurface in the general election.

She said of the criticism, “It’s okay, I’m a big girl. I can take it.” 

As for producing “gotcha” questions, Kelly laughed. “I don’t think that my history as a journalist supports bias on my part toward either party. … When I'm ticking off both sides, I’m in my sweet spot."
