Meek Team Hits Charlie Crist on the Environment
U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek, the Democratic candidate in the race for the U.S. Senate seat up in November, continued attacking Gov. Charlie Crist, who is running without party affiliation, on Wednesday afternoon, arguing that the governor is in the pocket of oil companies.
"In 2009, Florida's conservative governor, Charlie Crist, gave special treatment to the Big Oil friends who bankrolled his political campaigns, said Adam Sharon, a spokesman for Meek. While Florida's economy was spinning out of control, Crist had no problem cozying up to corporate special interests and creating special rules for Big Oil. Crist may call himself a friend of Florida's environment, but his actions show that he's nothing more than another conservative Republican in the pocket of Big Oil and corporate special interests. Kendrick is the only candidate in this race who will fight for Florida's environment.
