Medical Marijuana Amendment in Good Shape in New Poll

A new poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP), a firm with connections to prominent Democrats, finds Amendment 2, allowing more medical marijuana use in Florida, in excellent shape. The poll finds 66 percent of those surveyed support it while only 25 percent oppose it. The amendment needs 60 percent on the November ballot to pass.

The poll finds Floridians of all ages support the amendment though seniors support it less with only 58 percent of them backing it. Republicans are split on the proposal with 44 percent backing it while 42 percent oppose it.

The poll of 672 Florida voters was taken from June 6-9 and had a margin of error of +/- 3.8 percent.
