McCollum's Human Side Emerges at Victims' Rights Event
Submitted by Kevin Derby on April 21, 2010 - 11:09am
Attorney General Bill McCollum is not exactly the most expressive of politicians, but this mornings commemoration of National Crime Victims Rights Week revealed a bit of his emotional side. McCollum was beaming with pride when Lt. Michael Baute of the Attorney Generals Child Predator CyberCrime Unit was honored with a Distinguished Victim Services Award.
When a teenager now in the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches came up to thank Det. Bobby Burch of the Highland County Sheriffs Office for all the officer had done for him, McCollum was clearly moved. There are incredible stories today, McCollum said in referene to the seven award winners.
