McCollum Unveils Employment Plan He Claims Will Create 500,000 Jobs in 6 Years
Attorney General Bill McCollums gubernatorial campaign team has been hyping their candidates speech in Jacksonville today on economics and job creation -- and with Florida facing 12 percent unemployment, they have reason to. Jobs remain one of the chief issues in the Sunshine State.
While recently there have been small signs of improvement, Florida continues to face unprecedented unemployment, with more than 1.1 million Floridians now out of work, said McCollum, the frontrunner for the Republican nomination. To accelerate our recovery, we need real solutions to create the business climate that will attract the industries and jobs of a 21st century economy.
The McCollum camp claims the plan the attorney general unveiled will lead to 500,000 jobs in the next 6 years. Some of the McCollum plan involves restructuring the governors office, refocusing Enterprise Florida and pushing biotechnologies, tourism and trade.
