Mass. Sen. Scott Brown Getting a Lift from Marco Rubio in Fundraising

Massachusetts Republicans are hoping some of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio's star power -- and fundraising prowess -- will help the Bay State Republican hold on to his seat against a challenge from a left-liberal former top official in the Obama administration.

U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., is on the second of a two-day swing through Florida, including a fundraising dinner tonight being hosted by Rubio, the Boston Globe is reporting.

Brown, who defeated Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley in 2010 to win the seat held by the late Ted Kennedy, is a top target of Democrats in the 2012 election.

Their candidate, Elizabeth Warren, was an architect of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau -- the agency that spurred the recent controversy over Obama's recent "recess" appointment Richard Cordray to lead it without subjecting him to Senate confirmation.

Brown and Warren recently made news when they agreed not to accept super-PAC assistance to their campaigns. Apparently, they feel as Obama does -- er, did until early this month -- about money in our political system.
