Marshall Criser Starts as Florida University System Chancellor
Marshall Criser III took over as chancellor of the State University System of Florida on Monday.
This is a tremendous privilege, and I take it very seriously, said Criser. I look forward to working hard with other leaders in this state to make our universities the most accountable, accessible and high-achieving in this country.
Criser garnered the praise of the two leaders of the Florida Legislature.
I look forward to working with Marshall to further align education with the realities and opportunities of todays economy, said state Senate President Don Gaetz, R-Destin. I am confident his experience in both education and business will provide unique insights and wish him the best of luck in his new position.
I congratulate Marshall on his new role as Floridas university system chancellor and look forward to working with him on making Floridas universities more innovative and globally competitive, said state House Speaker Will Weatherford, R-Wesley Chapel.
