Marco Rubio Sets Up National Fundraising Operations

Most political observers and pundits believe U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., will seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. Rubios support of Republicans across the nation only adds to that perception.

As he gears up toward 2016, Rubio is assembling a team of fundraising heavyweights to help his leadership PAC Restore America play a greater role in electing Republicans. Alexander Bolton over at the Hill has the details. Its more than likely that the fundraising operation Rubio puts together for the 2014 election cycle will remain in place for the 2016 presidential primaries.

One interesting name on Rubios fundraising team is former Congressman Bill Paxon of New York. While Paxon is best known for his marriage to former Congresswoman Susan Molinari and his role in a leadership challenge to Newt Gingrich, he also chaired the National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee and has been an influential lobbyist since leaving Congress in 1998.
