Marco Rubio Praises Veterans
Floridas newest U.S. senator -- and the nations latest political star -- weighed in on Veterans Day on Thursday.
In his second inaugural address, Abraham Lincoln called upon our nation: to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan. This is the essence of what all Americans owe our veterans and their families, said Marco Rubio. Every day, we are reminded of the selfless sacrifices and heroism at work throughout our uniformed services. We are also reminded of the quiet sacrifices of their loved ones on the homefront, whose support and love are vital to troop morale and the defense of our country.
As we pause to reflect on our veterans proud legacy of defending freedom, we do so with a deep sense of pride and a renewed commitment to support them on and off the battlefield, added Rubio. Our veterans deserve to return home to a heros welcome, and this includes upholding our responsibility to provide them with the care they need for the rest of their lives.
