Marco Rubio Gives His First In-Depth National TV Interview to ABC News
Get ready for it.
Marco Rubio has given his first national interview since being elected, talking about his political plans, Libya, Barack Obama's effectiveness as a president and the always-fertile-conversation-maker -- the birther movement.
The charismatic, 39-year-old Republican senator, newest darling in Washington -- the man many conservatives are hoping might run for president in 2012 -- gave ABC News many hours of his time over several days in Washington and Florida, including exclusive, behind-the-scenes looks.
ABC pressed, but eventually Rubio ruled out a run at the White House next year.
"I am not running for president in 2012," Rubio told the network news program.

He wasn't so convincing in his response to speculation that he's a front-runner in consideration as the GOP vice presidential nominee.
See the whole interview on ABC's "Nightline" Tuesday night and watch "Good Morning America" Wednesday when George Stephanopoulos offers the first live national television interview with Florida's brightest political star.
