Marco Rubio Creates 'Reclaim America PAC'

Republican Sen. Marco Rubio filed paperwork this week with the Federal Election Commission to create Reclaim America PAC. By so doing, he joins other Senate tea-party favs who have created similar political action committees. The idea is to influence races and elect like-minded conservatives in 2012.

Asked Friday to provide details about Reclaim America's goals, and through an aide, Rubio declined. But the buzz is that the GOP's rising-star -- perhaps even its shooting star -- will use PAC money to donate to presidential candidates' campaigns. Rubio is, after all, considered by many a top vice presidential prospect.

The creation of Rubios PAC, which came on Wednesday, followed a rousing floor speech -- one in which he engaged in what Politico called "a rare, unscripted debate with Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass. -- about why conservatives like himself refused to compromise in the fight over raising the debt ceiling."

In fact, in under a week, a video of that speech has received more than 350,000 views on YouTube.

I would love nothing more than compromise, but I would say to you that compromise thats not a solution is a waste of time, Rubio said after an exchange with Kerry. If my house was on fire, I cant compromise about which part of the house Im going to save. You save the whole house or it will all burn down.

We either save this country or we do not. And to save it, we must seek solutions.
