Marco Rubio Carries Plea From 'Women in White'; Obama's Security Detail Takes Hits in Hooker Scandal

Making the rounds at the Summit of the Americas, Sen. Marco Rubio on Saturday met with Paraguay President Fernando Lugo and Chilean President Sebasti Pira (pictured here).

Rubio, R-Fla., also delivered an open letter from the so-called Ladies in White, calling attention to the Castro regime's "deplorable" human rights record. The letter asks the democratic leaders of the region to exclude Cuba from future summits.

At the Cartagena, Colombia, summit, Rubio toured the city's port, a hub of U.S.-Colombia trade, and met with members of that country's parliament.

Meantime, things weren't going quite so swimmingly for President Barack Obama's entourage. Reuters reported:

"In a major embarrassment at the Summit of the Americas attended by more than 30 heads of state, 11 U.S. Secret Service agents were sent home and five military servicemen grounded over 'misconduct' allegations in a hotel."

Sensational headlines about prostitutes hooking up with U.S. security agents stole attention from Obama's "charm offensive" and raised eyebrows around the region.

"Obama's guards expelled in Colombia over prostitution -- shame the gringos think that Latin America is a brothel and they act like it too," harrumphed left-leaning Venezuelan political commentator Nicmer Evans via Twitter.
