Marco Rubio Campaign Team Goes After Charlie Crist on Special Session

While all eyes will be on Tallahassee next week for the special session of the Legislature to forward a proposed constitutional amendment to the November ballot to ban oil drilling in state waters, Gov. Charlie Crist will not be able to escape the close battle he is waging with likely GOP candidate Marco Rubio for the U.S. Senate.

The Rubio camp took another shot at Crist on Wednesday morning for calling the session.

Charlie Crists photo-op special session wont save one Florida job, keep one small business open or prevent one future oil spill, said Rubio spokesman Alex Burgos. At a time when our state needs real leadership, its unfortunate that the governor is pushing Washington-style political gimmicks in an effort to say and do anything to help his election campaign.

Burgos contrasted Crist with Rubio. Marco Rubio has put forth a set of solutions that will actually help people along Floridas Gulf Coast and provide the type of economic relief needed to save jobs and keep businesses open, said Burgos. Marco is the only candidate calling for real action because the last thing we need in Washington is more politicians who hope that their constituents fall for cheap gimmicks.
