Liberals Don't Like Tax Deal; Conservatives Aren't Crazy About It Either

As Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., filibusters against the Obama-GOP tax plan, Republicans should be prepared for further left punches.

Liberal Democrats are angry that the president caved. Some have reportedly resorted to uttering expletives at him. But in reality, it's the soon-to-be-majority House Republicans who might have bargained for more.

Contrary to the conventional media narrative and Obama's disingenuous blather about a tax-cutting "stimulus," there are no tax cuts. The rates simply would remain the same on Jan. 1. Meantime, the estate tax is going from 0 percent to 35 percent and there's no plan to pay for the $56 billion extension in unemployment benefits.

Bottom line: The deficit worsens and there is no actual stimulus to the economy.

If Democrats scuttle this plan, Republicans should come back with an even tougher deal -- or at least stick to their guns.
