Liberal Lawyers Can Wear Tin-Foil Hats Too
Lest you should think it's only the conservatives who produce fringe kooks, tin-foil hatters and all-around nut jobs, take a close look at Tallahassee lawyer Steve Andrews.
Apparently Andrews felt so intimidated -- got so riled up -- because he was on Gov. Rick Scott's Christmas gift list -- ooooo, scary! -- and the gift actually was sent out by the governor's political committee ... well, he felt the need to run to the Tampa Bay Times to "report" his outrage.
The Times' Lucy Morgan wrote that Andrews, "embroiled in a bitter lawsuit against the governor," claims his wife received one of the terrifying packages.
(Lawyer Andrews is ticked because the governor wants his office building, part of a plan to make a park that would expand the governor's mansion grounds.)
Andrews called the gift "an intimidation tactic." Morgan wrote, "he says his wife has not donated to the governor's campaign or his political committee and should not be on his list to receive anything." Actually, records show she has donated to the Republicans, just not recently.
For God's sake, counselor, it's Christmas time. Lighten up. What your wife got was a Christmas present given to several hundred giftees -- and believe me, not all of them were the governor's supporters. Every single reporter, photographer and editor at the Florida Press Center received one of these $25 limited-edition, governor's office ornaments. How many Scott supporters do you think we'd find dug in among the Tallahassee press corps?
Somebody please give this lawyer a tranquilizer. And a tin-foil hat.
