LeMieux's Campaign Coffers Packed by Crist Supporters
George LeMieux has been the big winner when it comes to U.S. Senate candidates raising money from those who previously supported former Gov. Charlie Crist, the Orlando Sentinel is reporting.
"An Orlando Sentinel analysis of campaign-finance data finds LeMieux has collected more than $270,000 from people who supported Crist's failed U.S. Senate run as an independent in 2010," the Sentinel reported. "That represents 20 percent of the money LeMieux's campaign has raised.
"By contrast, former Florida House majority leader Adam Hasner-- who never misses a chance to tie LeMieux to Crist's moderate politics-- has raised just $56,000 from Crist donors. Winter Park businessman Craig Miller and Plant City businessman Mike McCalister raised less than $10,000 between them from Crist's contributors.
"A fifth major candidate, U.S. Rep. Connie Mack IV, has not formally announced or filed a contributions report."
