Law Firm to Bring 100 Jobs to Tallahassee
The American Law magazine reports that theKaye Scholer law firm is moving some 100 staffers from New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., to a new office in Tallahassee, Fla.
Tallahassee was chosen for the transfer "because of its quality-of-life, affordable housing, and proximity to the state government.Having Florida State University and Florida A&M nearby as potential sources of employees with backgrounds in finance, technology, library science, and graphic design was another draw," according to the article. The Florida capital's lower cost of living is expected to "allow ... the firm to save on real estate expenses and staff salaries."
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Tallahassee's unemployment rate is6.7 percent, below the nationwide rate of 7.8 percent.
