Lakeisha Hood Promoted at Food, Nutrition and Wellness

 Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam tapped Lakeisha Hood to lead the Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness.

Hood’s new post oversees school lunch programs and promoting nutrition. 
 
“Lakeisha is a proven leader and has worked tirelessly to ensure that children in Florida benefit from nutritious meals that foster better learning and a lifetime of good health,” Putnam said on Wednesday. 
 
This is a step up for Hood who had been the assistant director of the Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness for three years and, before that, working as a legislative aide in the state Senate.
