Kendrick Meek Continues to Push Ties with Democratic Establishment
In the final hours before the primary on Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek continues to wrap himself around the Democratic establishment as he battles Jeff Greene for the Democratic nod for the U.S. Senate race.
Meeks wife, Leslie, attended church services on Sunday with Grace Nelson, the wife of U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson. Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, best known for his stint as DNC chairman and his 2004 presidential campaign, wrote Democrats on Sunday, urging them to rally behind Meek.
In the meantime, after a mailer from the Greene campaign questioning Meeks support of Israel, the Meek team countered with a statement from two leaders of the National Jewish Democratic Council claiming that their candidate has always stood behind that nation.
