Kendrick Meek Campaign Team Upset About Jeff Greene Spending $6 Million in U.S. Senate Race

Federal campaign finance reports revealed on Thursday that Jeff Greene, a billionaire investor running in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate nomination, spent almost $6 million of his own fortune in the race. The campaign staff of his chief rival for the nomination, U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek, is using the occasion to attack Greene.

"Jeff Greene has a supporter of one -- himself, said Adam Sharon, a spokesman for Meek. Using the money he made off the backs of middle-class homeowners, he is trying to buy a Florida Senate seat. But Floridians just won't let him. Kendrick Meek is the real Democrat in this race and the only candidate who middle-class Florida families can trust to fight for them."
