Jose Felix Diaz to Lead Miami Dade Delegation

State Rep. Jose Felix Diaz will lead the Miami Dade delegation in the Florida Legislature in 2016 with Rep. Jose Javier Rodriguez, D-Miami, as vice chairman. 

“Miami Dade's delegation is the strongest, largest, and most united delegation in our great state,” Diaz said on Tuesday. “Vice Chairman Rodriguez and I look forward to leading by example and creating an infectious, positive legislative environment that will transcend the recent divides faced by Tallahassee. It is a surreal honor to have been elected unanimously and we hope this will be indicative of our delegation's willingness to usher in a new era of cooperation and statesmanship."

Rodriguez praised outgoing chairwoman Sen. Anitere Flores, R-Miami. 

"If going forward we can set our sights high as a delegation it is because of the hard work and good will of outgoing chair, Sen Flores, and those who preceded her in keeping us focused on common issues and looking past our divisions toward the broader interest of Miami-Dade,” Rodriguez said. “I look forward to working with Chair Diaz and the largest and most diverse legislative delegation in the state both to tackle urgent needs and to work toward longer-term goals on behalf of Miami-Dade's residents.”
