Jon Huntsman Launches Attacks Against Mitt Romney
Republican presidential hopeful former Gov. Jon Huntsman of Utah is sinking in most state and national polls but he still retains a bastion of support in New Hampshire, home of the first presidential primary. While Huntsman is doing better in the Granite State than anywhere else, he is far behind former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts in New Hampshire.
Huntsman looked to turn that around when, on Tuesday, he launched an all-out attack on Romney. The Huntsman camp launched a new website and a new video attacking Romney.
Mitt Romneys not running a cautious campaign; hes running from tough questions. Running from his record of flip-flops and avoiding controversial stands doesn't amount to presidential leadership, said Tim Miller, a spokesman for Huntsman, in a statement on Tuesday. Jon Huntsman hasnt shied away from the tough questions because he stands on conviction, not political convenience. Romneys strategy begs the question: If youre too afraid to answer David Gregorys questions on Sunday morning, how can Republican voters trust you to take on Barack Obama in 2012?
