John Edwards Pleads Not Guilty

Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards pleaded not guilty in federal court Friday to charges that he used $925,000 in campaign funds to hide an affair and out-of-wedlock paternity.

There is no question that Ive done wrong and I take full responsibility for having done wrong, Edwards said in brief comments. And I will regret for the rest of my life the pain and the harm that Ive caused to others. But I did not break the law and I never, ever thought I was breaking the law.
