With Jim Norman Off Ballot, Votes Will Go to Rob Wallace

With Jim Norman ineligible to run, votes counted for him on the Republican line will go to former Sen. Rob Wallace -- who, as the only candidate on the ballot, appears headed back to Tallahassee. Norman, who defeated Rep. Kevin Ambler in the primary, was ruled ineligible due to breaking campaign finance laws. Republican leaders in the district went with Wallace to replace Norman.

I am thrilled to have Rob Wallace as our Republican nominee in Senate District 12, said Sen. John Thrasher of Jacksonville, the chairman of the Republican Party of Florida. Rob is a successful small-business man and a committed and proven leader for lower taxes and less government. Im confident that the people of Hillsborough and Pasco County will be well-served under Robs representation, and he will be an invaluable part of the Senate Republican delegation. With Rick Scott as our next governor, and strong majorities in the House and Senate, well be able to enact meaningful reforms that create jobs and get Floridians get back to work.
