Jim Messina to Join Crist Campaign

The man who served as President Barack Obama's campaign manager is joining forces with Charlie Crist, taking over as the former governor's senior strategic adviser.

"RT to help me welcome @Messina2012 to the People's Team. Join us at http://charliecrist.com," wrote Crist on his Twitter account Monday evening.

According to Politico, Messinawill not be involved in the day-to-day aspects of the Crist campaign but will instead provide "big-picture" advice.

Crist's camp saw trouble shortly after he declared he'd be running for his old job -- his original campaign manager, Bill Hyers, called it quits in November andMichael Hoffman, who was listed as Crist's deputy finance director, split with the campaign earlier this month.
