Jeff Greene Takes Aim at Charlie Crist
Jeff Greene, running against U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate election, took a shot at Gov. Charlie Crist, who is running in the race without any party affiliation. Greene commented on a Mason-Dixon poll showing declining approval of the way Crist has handled his job as governor.
"Floridians should not be surprised that Governor Crist has the lowest approval rating of any Florida governor in 16 years, said Greene. He bolted from the GOP when it became clear he wasn't going to be the nominee for the Republican Party of Florida. He's since tried to reinvent himself as a centrist, and lied about his conservative stances on issues like offshore oil drilling and a woman's right to choose. Now, he's running from photo op to photo op trying to salvage his career.
Greene turned his fire to the rest of the field.
"Governor Crist is another in a series of failed career politicians like Kendrick Meek and Marco Rubio that put their corrupt special-interest cronies first and the people of Florida last, said Greene.
