Jeff Greene Campaign Team Drills Charlie Crist on Oil
Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Jeff Greenes campaign team is taking aim at Gov. Charlie Crist and oil drilling as well as the rest of the field in the race.
Charlie Crist has been running from photo-op to photo-op, but he cant run from his record of being in the pocket of Big Oil, said Luis Vizcaino, a spokesman for the Greene campaign. The fact is that career politician Charlie Crist supported offshore oil drilling for many years and has received 119 contributions totaling more than $70,000 from oil and gas companies since 1998. Floridians have to wonder whether Charlie Crist is exploiting the oil spill catastrophe for personal political gain.
Vizcaino turned his fire to the rest of the candidates in the Senate race. Unlike his Senate candidate opponents -- Charlie Crist and Marco Rubio who have received money from the oil industry, including Kendrick Meek who has taken money from BP -- Jeff Greene wont take a single penny from special interests, he said. He is opposed to offshore oil drilling and believes that in addition to a moratorium on offshore oil drilling, we should also have a moratorium on campaign contributions by oil companies.
