Withlittle more than two weeks until the primary election on Aug. 24, Jeff Greene --locked in a tight battle with U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate election in November --brought up his rivals connections to the controversial U.S. Rep. Charlie Rangel of New York who is currently under investigation for ethics violations.
I feel Mr. Rangel should step down immediately, said Greene on Sunday. Its very important that we preserve the integrity of the House of Representatives.
Greene called on Meek to join him in calling for Rangel to resign and return $5,500 that his rival had accepted from the New York congressmans organizations. Meek served on the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee which Rangel chaired.
