Jeff Atwater Praises the Rest of the Republican Ticket
Senate President Jeff Atwater, the Republican candidate for state CFO, offered warm words for GOP gubernatorial nominee Rick Scott and attorney general nominee Pam Bondi late Tuesday.
For weeks, a full slate of Republican candidates has presented the people of Florida a positive message of conservative, principled ideas for getting Florida on the road to economic recovery, said Atwater. As with many campaigns, this primary season saw spirited debate and contrasting plans for moving Florida forward. With tonight's results, voters in Florida have made their choice and selected candidates who will carry our conservative message into November.
Republican candidates at every level have proven that the people of Florida have talented, experienced conservatives who are ready to serve, added Atwater. We offer Florida solutions that will lower taxes, fight fraud and waste of taxpayer dollars, and foster the entrepreneurial spirit to grow our economy and create jobs.
Atwater called for party unity after the bitter primary battle between Scott and Attorney General Bill McCollum.
From this moment forward, I ask my Republican colleagues to join me and unite around our shared vision to make Florida better, said Atwater. Let us reach out to every Floridian, regardless of party affiliation, and communicate the great ideas represented within the party of Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan.
I look forward to joining my fellow Republicans, Marco Rubio, Rick Scott, Pam Bondi and Adam Putnam, along with all the talented men and women who have offered themselves for public service, as we work for victory in November, he concluded.
