Jeb Bush Calls 'To Take the Fight to the Enemy' After Paris Attacks

Now running for the Republican presidential nomination, former Gov. Jeb Bush, R-Fla., called for more action against Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists after the attacks on Paris on Friday.

“These attacks are a stark reminder of the serious threat we face,” Bush noted on Sunday. “The Obama administration’s approach has been weak and incremental, too often viewing terrorism as a law enforcement problem. We need to treat it as a war — to take the fight to the enemy.

“There are those that think this is not our fight,” Bush continued. “Just last night, Hillary Clinton made that claim on national TV. Let there be no mistake, this is our fight. This is an organized effort to destroy Western Civilization and we must defeat  it.

“Developing a strategy is the first step in that process,” Bush added. “Right now, we don’t have one. A policy of containment will never destroy ISIS or end the conflict in Syria that is fueling radicalism.  The strategy must start with a no-fly zone over Syria and safe zones in the region for refugees -- all built with a coalition of our allies in Europe and the Middle East.

“For generations, American-led alliances have defended freedom,” Bush concluded. “This is the way forward, led by a president who is  resolute – as I will be – in the defeat of radical Islamic terrorism wherever it appears.”
