Jeb Bush Announces Education Summit

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush will be hosting the 6th Annual National Summit on Education Reform on Oct. 17-18 in Boston, Mass., according to a press release sent out Tuesday afternoon.

Bush currently serves as chairman of the Foundation for Excellence in Education. According to a press release, the Foundation's flagship convenes annually to "share strategies to improve the quality of education for all children."

During the last several decades, too many children have been failed by education systems and bureaucracies that have left them unprepared for college or a high-paying job, especially in todays competitive, high-tech global economy. Thankfully, states across the nation and countries around the globe are adopting innovative, student-centered solutions that serve as models for raising academic achievement, said Bush. The Foundation for Excellence in Education looks forward to convening education reform leaders this fall as we take on the biggest challenges and opportunities in education today.

Former Gov. Bush will be opening the summit with a breakfast keynote on Oct. 17. The remainder of the two-day summit will feature"national and international leaders and strategy sessions covering some of the hottest topics and latest innovations in education."
