Jacksonville Congressional Reps Offer Prayers for El Faro

The two congressional representatives from Jacksonville offered prayers for the families of and the crew of the El Faro which has been sunk in Hurricane Joaquin.

El Faro was headed from Jacksonville to Puerto Rico. All 33 members of the crew are still missing as the Coast Guard and the military continue to search for survivors.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of the crew of the El Faro,” said U.S. Rep. Ander Crensahw, R-Fla. “As the Coast Guard, United States Navy, United States Air Force, and TOTE Maritime make the search for possible survivors the top priority, may they remain safe. We have been in constant contact with the Coast Guard and TOTE and know the United States Coast Guard and National Transportation Safety Board will fully and carefully investigate this case.”

U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown, D-Fla., offered prayers as well on Monday and called for a congressional inquirty of what could be the worst American shipping disaster in decades.
