Ileana Ros-Lehtinen Co-Sponsors Breast Cancer Commission Bill
On Tuesday, U.S Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., joined co-sponsors of a bill to create a commission of scientists and advocates which will examine strategies to prevent breast cancer without using new federal monies. There are more than 150 other co-sponsors in the House.
"Breast cancer is a serious and potentially fatal disease that affects a wide segment of our society, Ros-Lehtinen said. Identifying ways to prevent the spread or metastasis of breast cancer is very important. This is why I was pleased to have co-sponsored this timely bill and I urge my colleagues who have not done so to please support it right away. Bringing together the best minds available to combat breast cancer is a smart move and I'm hopeful for what they can accomplish."
