Howard Dean's DFA Goes to Bat for Rick Kriseman

Liberal group Democracy for America (DFA), founded by former Gov. Howard Dean of Vermont who won national attention for his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004, endorsed former state Rep. Rick Kriseman to be mayor of St. Petersburg

Democracy for America Chair Jim Dean, the brother of the former presidential candidate, praised Kriseman'sliberal credentials and pledged the group would fight for him.

"From his time on the City Council to his service in the Florida State House, Rick Kriseman has built a strong record of standing up and fighting for progressive solutions and that makes him the best choice for mayor of St. Petersburg, Jim Dean said on Wednesday. Democracy for America's 50,000 members in Florida are already hard at work knocking on doors and making phone calls for Rick and, on Nov. 5, that surge of grassroots support will carry him into the mayor's office."
