Holly Benson Praises Supreme Court Decision on Guns
Former Agency for Health Care Administration Secretary Holly Benson, currently in a tight battle for the Republican attorney general nomination, weighed in on the Supreme Court decision on Monday, striking down local gun-control laws.
This decision by the Supreme Court is a monumental victory for freedom and the Second Amendment in America, said Benson. The highest court in the land has reaffirmed that our Second Amendment rights are absolute, and that government interference of these rights, at any level, will not be tolerated.
This landmark decision serves as confirmation to a great number of Floridians and millions of Americans, who have always felt that the right to keep and bear arms is an individual right granted to them by the founding fathers and rooted in the U.S. Constitution, continued Benson. I commend the Supreme Court for their decision in furthering the power of the Second Amendment, and I congratulate the NRA for their victory.
Benson joins a host of Republicans across Florida, including RPOF Chairman John Thrasher, U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio and both GOP gubernatorial candidates, whopraisedthe decision on Monday.
