'Hoe' Brown Appointed to Tampa Port Authority

William Hoe Brown has been appointed to the Tampa Port Authority by Gov. Rick Scott.

According to a release from the governors office:

Brown, 54, of Tampa, has been the president of JB Carrie Properties Inc. since 1987. Since 2008, he has served on the board of directors of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission and on the executive committee of Tampa Bay and Co. since 2009. Brown received a bachelors degree from Florida State University. He has served on the Tampa Port Authority since 2008 and is reappointed for a term beginning Dec. 8, 2011, and ending Nov. 15, 2015.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
