Hillary Clinton's Sunshine State Swing Draws RNC Fire

With former U.S. Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, the favorite for the Democratic presidential nomination, headed to Orlando for a campaign event on Wednesday, the Republican National Committee (RNC) sent a few jabs her way this week.

The RNC hit Clinton’s economic plans including her call for more federal money to be spent on infrastructure projects.

“With Hillary Clinton’s spending binge already at a trillion dollars and counting, it’s clear she wants to treat Americans’ tax dollars like every day is Black Friday with no plan to pay the bill,” Ali Pardo, a spokeswoman for the RNC, said on Tuesday. “The real reason Hillary Clinton isn’t saying how she’ll pay for her trillion-dollar spending increase is because she knows it means raising taxes on the middle class.”

The RNC also took aim at Clinton for attending a fundraising event in Miami with former State Department staffer Dawn McCall.

“McCall left the State Department in disgrace following a scathing Inspector General report criticizing her mismanagement of funds, as well as her morale-killing leadership style,” the RNC noted this week. “In one now famous incident, McCall spent hundreds of thousands in taxpayer funds to help the State Department accrue likes on Facebook.”
