Hillary Clinton Group Raises $1 million
A political action committee working to support Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign has already raised $1 million, prompting speculation that Clinton will be headed for the campaign trail in 2016.Clinton resigned as secretary of state in February, and has not officially announced whether she will seek the presidency in 2016, but it appears she is gathering broad financial support early on in the game.
An official with the Ready For Hillary super-PAC said Tuesday that the organization hit the million-dollar mark since it began collecting donations this spring. The total will be reported in the group's financial report on Wednesday.
Clinton is not formally connected to the group. Since leaving her post as secretary of state, she has been working on writing a book and has made several paid public appearances, costing $200,000 per engagement.
