Hey, Charlie, if You Care, Here's What Floridians Are Telling You

As national endorsements roll in for Marco Rubio's U.S. Senate bid, Charlie "What, Me Worry?" Crist seems decidedly unimpressed.

"I care what my fellow Floridians think and what their thoughts are much more than anybody from Washington," the glib governor says.

While only the most rabid neocons were likely to be impressed when Dick Cheney threw his support to Rubio this week, rank-and-file Floridians have been abandoning Crist in droves.

Can anyone recall another 60-point swing in state opinion polls in just three months? The latest surveys even cast increasing doubt on Crist's ability to triangulate a victory as an "independent."

For someone as poll-driven as Crist, maybe he should start reading the Florida polls. There seems to be a pattern that only the most egocentric politician could miss.
