He's the Front-runner: Four Polls Show Marco Rubio Ahead of Crist by Double Digits

Theres a new narrative in the battle for the U.S. Senate seat in November -- Republican candidate Marco Rubio has a solid lead over Gov. Charlie Crist, who is running without party affiliation, and Democratic nominee U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek.

Rasmussen Reports released a poll on Wednesday and it is the fourth poll showing Rubio with a double-digit lead. The poll of likely voters had Rubio with 41 percent, Crist with 30 percent and Meek trailing in third with 23 percent. Rubio has essentially locked down his base despite the presence of Crist, a former Republican, in the race. The poll found that 80 percent of Rubio backers were certain they would vote for him in November -- as opposed to 69 percent of Meek backers and only 45 percent of Crist supporters.

A lot can happen in six weeks -- as Florida voters know very well. But right now there is a clear front-runner in this race and its Marco Rubio.
