Herman Cain Goes to Bat for Craig Miller

Businessman Herman Cain, the former Republican presidential candidate who won the Presidency 5 straw poll in Orlando in September, is backing a host of Republicans running for Senate and for the U.S. House all across the nation -- including one congressional hopeful in Florida.

Sending out an email on Tuesday to the co-conspirators in the 9-9-9 revolution, Cain praised the candidates for Congress who have joined on with 9-9-9 which he called an Army of Davids who promise to go to Washington and slay our modern Goliath: the federal tax code." Cain also asked his supporters to help the candidates he is backing.

Well, at least Cain did not call it a Gideons army which was, for those of you who came in late, what Henry Wallace termed his Progressive Party back in 1948.

Cain included nine Republican candidates in his Army of Davids, including fellow restaurant executive Craig Miller. Miller is running for Congress in a new district on the Atlantic coast, south of Jacksonville.

Miller faces some serious competition from fellow Republicans: state Rep. Fred Costello, R-Ormond Beach; attorney and conservative activist Ron DeSantis; Jacksonville City Councilman Richard Clark; and Bill Kogut who has run twice for the U.S. Senate.
