Herman Cain and Mitt Romney Tie in National Poll
Another national poll released Thursday found that businessman Herman Cain and former Gov. Mitt Romney were battling it out for the lead in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
A poll unveiled by Rasmussen Reports on Thursday had Cain and Romney tied for the lead with 29 percent apiece. Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich took third with 10 percent. Gov. Rick Perry of Texas placed fourth with 9 percent. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul was in fifth place with 5 percent followed by U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann with 4 percent. Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and former Gov. Jon Huntsman lagged at the bottom with 2 percent each.
The poll of 1,000 likely Republican primary voters was taken on Wednesday and had a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.
