Henderson Appointed to Volusia County Court

Gov. Rick Scott today appointed Steven Henderson of Port Orange to the Volusia County Court.

Stevens life experiences, service to others and work as a prosecutor have developed his skills and shaped his temperament to work hard and listen to others, Scott stated in a release. As a manager, he has carefully worked to apply the law on a daily basis, and I am confident he will use the same diligence as a county court judge.

According to a release from the governors office:

Henderson, 38, has been an assistant state attorney with the state attorneys office for the 7th Circuit since 2003, where he currently manages misdemeanor and juvenile crimes prosecutors. Previously, he was an admissions counselor at Florida Metropolitan University from 1998 to 2000 and at Stevens-Henager Business College from 1997 to 1998. Henderson received a bachelors degree from Brigham Young University and a law degree from Florida State University.

Henderson will fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge David B. Beck to the 7th Judicial Circuit.
