Heat, Lightning and NFL Draft Add up to Good Time of the Year for Florida Sports Fans

Its kind of lost in Tallahassee as the legislative session winds down, but there is quite a bit going on in the sports world in the Sunshine State. The Miami Heat defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the NBA playoffs, while the Orlando Magic are fighting for their lives against the Atlanta Hawks. The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Pittsburg Penguins in the first round of the NHL playoffs. Tonight, the three NFL teams in the state -- the Jacksonville Jaguars (we better take a quarterback), the Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers -- will make their first selections in the draft. Its a good time of the year to be a sports fan in Florida, and the Players Championship, one of the best events in golf, kicks off in Ponte Vedra on May 5.
